dammnit! i have now seen this movie TWICE and i still don’t know wats going on… ironically, the “ultimate gift” is 2 billion dollars, correct? but…what? thats not supposed to be the point!!!!!!!!! how do we know that jason’s really changed? he had no epiphany, no great moment of understanding…he just sort of learned to contain his brattiness, but did it really go away??? not likely.

at the part with the angels and the trees blowing softly in the wind; the music is so beautiful. Who composed this soundtrack?
@jaska05 WRONG… i really dislike idiots like you who don’t see the true purpose of movies like this. You are the one who only thinks about the money involved in this movie… It’s depressing. And this movie’s purpose wasn’t to show that if you do the right thing, you’ll get money. It was to show how to be a good person at heart. and as puppywithhorns7 said, don’t watch these movies if you don’t like them!

This is a great movie. It’s about the human spirit and things that many people forget that make them who they are.

No, the black and white is not part of the completed DVD released movie. It’s only this way b/c this is a first cut, not the completed version.

My understanding is that she meant Jason’s presentation for Emily’s Home when she said “there”. She wanted to reassure Jason that it wasn’t his fault that she wasn’t there when Emily died. She was doing what Emily wanted her to do, and that was the best she could do.
I bawled when I first saw this…and I still cry time and time again. This is a touching and memorable movie.

I’m sorry, I have a question:
At 1:14 and 1:23
“She wanted me to be there.”
Does she mean “there” like being with Emily when she died or “there” like being at Jason’s presentation?
I’m confused because in the german version (I’m from germany but watched both versions.) she says: “here” instead of “there”, as in “with Emily”.
That’d make it even sadder.
Could anyone give me an answer, please?
